Commuters

Thrive Guide

Commuter students are students who do not live on campus and travel to attend classes. At USC Aiken, we advocate for the needs of commuter students and support their academic success.

Where can I go on my down time?

Head to the Commuter Lounge Monday-Sunday from 8:30 am - 10 pm in the Banksia Room in the SAC near Starbucks. Use the lounge to heat up your lunch in the microwave or just hang out with other commuters between classes.

The Gregg-Graniteville Library is also a great place to spend time if you need a quiet place to study. The Center for Student Achievement, Math Lab, and more are located there– check those out, too. The library is open 7 days a week.

Is there a meal plan for me?

You can add a special meal plan in the Business Services office that allows you to purchase fewer meals to match the amount of time you spend on campus. If you plan to be here a lot, it is definitely useful!

How do I get involved on campus?

Getting involved on campus is easy to do. At the beginning of every semester, USC Aiken hosts Get on Board Days where student organizations come together and welcome new members. This includes Greek life, Student Government Association (SGA), honors societies, and much more. Joining an organization is a great way to meet other students and feel like part of the campus. For more information about any of the Student Life programs, please stop by the Student Life Office.
