I.          Policy

It is very important that no employee -- staff or faculty - obligate the University by way of written or oral contract for payment of services. The proper channel for all actions dealing with compensation for personal services is the use of USCA Form 12 (Personnel Requisition/Request for Compensation). No oral or written contracts will be initiated until USCA Form 12 is fully signed and approved.

No new hire is to start working until all hiring paperwork is completed, especially the I-9 and E-Verify process.

Any compensation commitments made other than through normal procedures of the University become the personal liability of the person making such contracts or commitments.

II.        Procedure

A. Hiring procedures for faculty are located on the USCA HR web page.http://www.usca.edu/human-resources/faculty-recruitment-guide.dot

B. Hiring procedures for staff are located on the USCA HR web page: http://www.usca.edu/human-resources/forms/HIRING.pdf
