Patrol Corporal (Law Enforcement Officer II), Minimum Salary: $54,165 per year (Salary commensurate with education & experience; potential for sign-on bonus as well), USC Aiken University Police 

The Law Enforcement Officer II/Patrol Corporal provides law enforcement, security, and protection for the University of South Carolina Community and property. Serves as the first line supervisor of a team of officers. These are certified police officers in accordance with SC Code of Laws, empowered with full arrest and police authority statewide. They enforce state laws, National Advocacy Center rules and regulations, and University rules and regulations. Executes duties of a patrol officer, provides VIP detail security, assists with critical incidents, and provides emergency first response. Work shifts may vary from week to week. Must work overtime and weekends as required.

Minimum Requirements: Associates degree and 3 years of related experience; or equivalency. Must be 21 years of age, be physically qualified and have no criminal record. Must pass a background investigation and complete the SC Criminal Justice Academy and be certified by the SC Law Enforcement Training Council before assuming police duties. Duty hours include nights and weekends. Must receive certification as a Medical First Responder. Network Admin (IT Technician II), Minimum Salary: $45,133 per year, USC Aiken Technology Services Division

Under the supervision of the Director of Technology Operations and in coordination with the Network Engineer, maintain the stable operation of the university’s data networks and telecommunication systems. This position is responsible for the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of edge network equipment (switches, access points, and cameras), physical access control equipment, and telecommunication equipment (telephones, PBX, and supporting devices). This position is also responsible for the installation and maintenance of structured cabling (CAT3/6/6a, Fiber, Twinax, Coaxial, etc.) at the university and ensuring the stability of network service delivery over the physical layer. This position is a member of a team which provides mission-critical services to the university and is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Systems; or equivalency. Provides administrative support for the Department of Visual & Performing Arts. Under general supervision of Maintenance Supervisor, performs trades related duties of moderate difficulty & complexity, specializing in specific trade areas in various kinds of repair, maintenance or construction activities; works on a general maintenance crew involving multiple professional trades skills.  Performs plumbing repairs, installations, and troubleshooting on various plumbing and piping systems including toilets, fixtures, flush valves, indoor and outdoor plumbing components. Independently performs corrective & preventive maintenance on small gasoline engines & electrical motors and golf carts. Responsible for maintaining 5 university vehicles and golf cart fleet. Obtains quotes from contractors to ensure and oversees preventative maintenance on boilers, back flows and other water systems. Repair and/or install drinking water fountains. Assist with key and lock assignments. Other duties as assigned.   Requires a high school diploma and 4 years directly related trade experience. Assistant Athletic Trainer (2 positions available), USC Aiken Athletics 

The University of South Carolina Aiken sponsors 10 Division II sports and is a member in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and Peach Belt Conference.  The University has an enrollment of approximately 3,900 students. The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine to aid in the day-to-day operations and provide care to student-athletes at the University of South Carolina Aiken. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions.  This is a full-time, 10.5 month position (August 1 – June 15).  All candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, have a valid driver’s license with good driving record and be certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC), and be First Aid/CPR certified. TEMPORARY POSITIONS

Temporary Certified Lifeguard, $15/hr (Hours vary based on need), USC Aiken

The overall focus of this position is to provide supervision of the USCA Natatorium.  Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing assistance to Natatorium members, processing membership payments, monitoring and observing all member activity in the pool and on the deck, implementing emergency procedures when needed, and other duties as assigned.  Qualifications: Lifeguarding Certification (The USCA Department of Recreation and Wellness will pay for certification if not currently certified.)  There is a Lifeguard class the weekend of May 3rd! Must be at least 16 years old.

Lecturer in Political Science

The University of South Carolina Aiken Department of History, Political Science, and Philosophy seeks applicants for a temporary non-tenure track Lecturer in Political Science to begin August 16, 2024. This is a 9-month appointment (8/16/24-5/15/25) with a 5/5 teaching assignment. This is a 9-month, full-time teaching, research, and service position. Face-to-face teaching each semester is a requirement of this position. Candidates must be willing to teach undergraduate and graduate business courses as assigned in both online and traditional settings. Candidates must have a conferred terminal degree. The degree must be in business, or a field related to a business discipline, from a university with an AACSB accredited program. Instructor, Theatre (Design)

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at USC Aiken seeks a non-tenure track INSTRUCTOR OF THEATRE (DESIGN) to start August 16, 2024. The nine-month responsibilities include teaching general education courses, technical labs, and design courses based on expertise. Designing and Technical Direction for University Theatre productions, supervising student designers, and departmental service.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must possess an M.A. in Theatre, with experience in design and technical theatre. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
