The University Police office is located on campus, in the housing community at Pacer Downs. Uniformed officers provide services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. These services include: emergency response to crimes in progress, life threatening incidents, foot patrol, bike patrol, escort services, and limited parking lot assistance (i.e. unlock cars and jump starts).
All officers are certified Medical First Responders. They also provide vehicle registration, publish crime prevention information, and assist with personal property engraving.
The University Police Department is committed to providing professional services to the USC Aiken community. Our police officers are State certified with the state of South Carolina. Because the Department's effectiveness is largely dependent upon the assistance and cooperation of the University community, each officer and staff member strives to promote open communication and to maintain an atmosphere of courtesy, fairness, and concern. They are qualified to handle any type of safety and security situation. Prior to employment, all officers are subjected to extensive psychological screening and background investigations.
University Housing also has live-in professionals and student staff members available 24 hours a day to assist with any problems that may arise.
