Fall 2023 Move In Information

Move In for the fall 2023 semester is approaching. Here is important information that you should know, so you may begin to plan for your arrival at USC Aiken in August.

Move In location:

Please come to the office of the community where you will have a room for the fall semester. If you do not know which community you are residing in, please check the Housing Portal to find out.

Will there be buggies for unloading?

University Housing will have buggies available for you to check out at no cost. Please ask the office to let you know where you might find a buggy for moving in.

Will I be able to meet my Resident Mentor?

Your Resident Mentor will meet you on your move in day and a floor meeting will be held, so you are able to discuss important information about living in University Housing. If you missed your floor meeting, you will need to meet with your RM. Also, check your USC Aiken email for things that you need to complete after moving in.

Are there things that I should or should not bring?

Yes, on both accounts. Please check out our helpful What to Bring list as you plan for moving into University Housing in August. You may also find information on the size of the rooms and the windows on that webpage.

Do I need to get a parking permit?

Yes. There is ample and close parking to all University Housing residence halls. Please know that all student vehicles must display parking decals for the upcoming academic year; they are now available. The parking decals can be obtained from the University Police Department Office between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The decals may be requested through a University Police Registration Form. Please make sure that you have the registration with you for the car that you will be driving on campus.

Will I need a USC Aiken Student ID Card?

Yes. Residents may choose to obtain their student picture ID at the University Police office prior to Move In Day. This will allow you to avoid the rush. Please contact the University Police Department Office at (803) 641-3319 to set up an appointment. (Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.)

What if I have decided that I am not coming to USC Aiken?

If you have determined that you will not be returning to University Housing for the fall semester, please ensure that you submit a Housing Contract Release Form. If you do so before July 31, 2023, then you will not be assessed a fee. However, beginning with August 1, 2023, you would be assessed a $250.00 No Show fee.
