Living-Learning Communities

University Housing

University Housing offers three Living-Learning Communities for students involved in the following areas:

  • Equestrian
  • E-Sports
  • Honors Program

Students in Living-Learning Communities will have access to unique opportunities that will improve their on-campus experience at USC Aiken. This also allows students to live with people who have similar interests to them. Research has shown that people who join a Living Learning Community are more engaged academically, socially and with the community.

Snapshot of the Equestrian Living-Learning Community

This community is made up of students who are part of one of the several equestrian teams we have at USC Aiken, including polo, eventing, IHSA, and IDA. Living here builds a community with fellow students who have the same interests and schedule as you.

Students will live on a dedicated wing in Pacer Commons and will have access to multiple lounges for events and meetings.

What Makes This Community Unique?

  • Participate in programming dedicated to equestrian members such as stress relievers, time management, and other interests.
  • Have a dedicated Resident Mentor who is knowledgeable about equestrian opportunities and will provide dedicated programming for the Equestrian LLC.

This community is for students who are interested in gaming competitively.

Students will live on a dedicated wing in Pacer Commons and will have easy access to the state of the art E-Sports Lounge located on the first floor of that building. Students will also have access to multiple lounges for events and meetings and will be able to build a community with fellow students who share their interest in gaming.

What Makes this Community Unique?

Students in this Living-Learning Community will have access to unique opportunities that will improve their on-campus experience at USC Aiken and will allow them live with people who have share similar interests. They will also have the following amenities and opportunities:

  • Participate in unique programs dedicated to E-Sports such as Game Nights, and competition.
  • Have a dedicated Resident Mentor who is knowledgeable about E-Sports and who does unique programming exclusively for E-Sports.
  • Have access to multiple lounges for gaming competitions and programs.

Snapshot of the Honors Living-Learning Community

This community is made up of students in the Honors Program.

Students will live on a dedicated wing in Pacer Commons and will have access to multiple lounges for events and meetings. They will also have access to two classrooms for hosting academic classes and will be able to build a community with professors and other students who have similar academic interests.

What Makes This Community Unique?

Students in this Living-Learning Community will have access to unique opportunities that will improve their on-campus experience at USC Aiken and will allow them live with people who share the same interests as them. They will additionally have access to the following opportunities:

  • Have Dinner with the Chancellor of USC Aiken.
  • Participate in programming dedicated to honors' students such as game nights, study nights, lunch chats or coffee chats with faculty members, and other types of events dedicated to honors students.
  • Have a dedicated Resident Mentor who is part of the Honors Program.
  • Take Honors 101 together while also living together, thus creating a true Living-Learning Community.
