Welcome to the University of South Carolina Aiken's Equestrian Community. Located in the heart of horse country, the University celebrates Aiken's longstanding equestrian tradition. We encourage all students who are interested in continuing their equestrian activities and lifestyle while furthering their education to explore the opportunities our university has to offer both in and outside of the classroom. Whatever your equestrian discipline, you will find it in Aiken.
US News and World Report has ranked the University of South Carolina Aiken for the past twenty years as one of the top three Public Baccalaureate Colleges in the South. Known for small class sizes, accessible faculty, and a diverse student body, the University with its equestrian opportunities is a perfect match for students who love horses and want to ride year round.
The Mane Event
USC Aiken’s Equestrian Program has had an incredible two-year run! In 2023, the university’s eventing team won the Intercollegiate National Championship. Also, the university’s polo and Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) teams competed in the national championship in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
On that note, USC Aiken will hold an event on Oct. 25, 2023, to celebrate and raise funds in support of its equestrian teams. The name of the event is The Mane Event: Celebrating USC Aiken Equestrian Success. It will be held at Bruce’s Field at the Aiken Horse Park and feature casual fellowship with members of the local horse community and the opportunity to meet some of the university’s equestrian riders.
